Alexandra 4 I bought several of these Vintage colored pens because I currently own several of the original silver clipped ones and knew I would love the design, but what was truly the reason... the gold clip. I love the way the clip looks in pictures, a brassy matted gold. Sadly, I wasn't delighted when I opened the package. The clip is not as depicted in the pictures. It is actually a very subtle, dull, shiny gold which looks like the gold you find on cheap gold tone jewelry. I was truly disappointed. The body colors are beautiful with the Cassis Black, Red Black, Green Black, Brown Gray, and Bordeaux Purple being my favorite; they are all matte is appearance and feel. There is a difference in the barrel tip's design from the original silver clipped pens. The tip of the barrel has a more rounded end; the original is more pointed. While it is not a pronounced difference, I noticed the difference immediately while I was writing. The body/ink colors I purchased are: Matte Black, Camel Yellow, Cassis Black, Blue Black, Red Black, Green Black, Brown Gray, Bordeaux Purple). With the exception of the Camel Yellow, they are all very office-appropriate colors. The ink comes across as flat and muted on paper, not deep and popping. They are weightier than your average pen but still comfortable to hold and write with. Overall, I am very happy with the barrel colors and ink but very disappointed with the gold tone clip and embellishments. So sorry I didn't get what I expected.
